We compliment our designs with graphic overlays, membrane switches, ESD-protection circuitry, even embedded LED components.

A typical X-Y capacitive touch screen might be comprised of three layers: 

• Presentation Layer (Graphic Overlay)
  AGE Nameplate combines both digital and screen print processes to produce brilliant graphic overlays utilizing simple or complex designs provided by the OEM. Digitally applied inks create translucent color enhancing the effect of white LED’s embedded in the circuit layer.

• Glass Laminate Layer (Capacitive)
  Multiple layers of ITO glass substrate are laminated to create a resistive system that stores electrical charge. When a user touches the panel some of the charge is transferred to the user, decreasing the charge on the capacitive layer. This decrease is measured in circuits located at each corner of the touch panel. An application processor calculates exactly where the touch event took place and then relays that information to the touch screen driver software. Capacitive systems transmit over 90 percent of the light emitted from the monitor. This gives the capacitive system a much clearer picture than touch screens that use resistive system technology.
  

• Circuit Layer with Embedded LED
  The printed circuit layer is created by applying high-quality conductive inks using a silk screen printing process. ESD protection circuitry is optionally added to the circuit layer. A standard flex connector is used to connect the touch screen with the OEM application processor and driver software.
